Last week was my first week on a work placement in The Women’s Library. Everyone made me feel really welcome and I found a very warm and comfortable atmosphere. (Although at first I was a bit daunted by the lane and the old fashioned lift.)Before Anne Marie Graham at the Gorbals Adelphi Centre told me about The Women’s Library I had not heard of it before. Now I don’t believe I didn’t know about it. I think it’s a wonderful source of information. I found some great books and love the shelves of newspaper cuttings. I could spend the whole day reading in here.
On Friday it was good to feel useful when Liz (the other placement worker) and myself went to the book sale shop and packed away some of the books. Then in the afternoon Wendy, Laine and I started packing the newspaper cuttings. So I am glad to be here this summer as I feel it will be good experience. So thank you to everybody, and I hope to keep contributing to the blog while I am here.
