Posters are powerful. In the second of three exhibitions celebrating our 25th anniversary year, we spotlight graphic gems from the huge poster collection at GWL. The exhibition includes some of the cut and paste works created to spread the word about GWL in its infancy, posters raising awareness of women’s issues at home and internationally, works that promote women in the arts, and campaigning flyers for social and political change. All demonstrate how the poster format has and continues to be important to women, women’s groups and GWL.
This exhibition has been curated and designed by our first Designer in Residence, Kirsty McBride. All are welcome to join us for a preview of this exhibition on Thursday 11th May, 6pm to 7.30pm. Find out more here.
Due to popular demand we have extended the exhibition opening dates. The exhibition will now be on display during GWL opening hours until Saturday 22nd July.
This exhibition is free to attend and there is no need to book. For opening times see the ‘Where to Find Us’ section of the website.
