Working with GWL: Propose an Event or Project

Glasgow Women’s Library receives many requests and suggestions from partner organisations and individuals interested in working with us. Whether you’d like to collaborate on a talk, storytelling event, creative writing workshop, film screening, performance, or an exhibition, the best way to get in touch with us is to submit a proposal using our ‘Working with GWL’ application form.

Submitting your ‘Working with GWL’ form

Please complete our Working with GWL application form and return it to the relevant member of staff, or our Production Coordinators Farzane at farzane.zamen@womenslibrary.org.uk and Mattie at mattie.roberts@womenslibrary.org.uk and Development Worker for Programming and Curating, Caroline Gausden, at caroline.gausden@womenslibrary.org.uk. Your proposal will be reviewed at one of our three Programming meetings a year. We will then get back to you with feedback.

Guidelines and timeframes

We have three programme cycles and meet to review Working with GWL proposals three times a year.

  • To propose an event as part of our Spring Programme 2025 (February to June) the deadline for form submission is Tuesday 10th September 2024
  • To propose an event as part of our Summer Programme 2025 (June to October) the deadline for form submission is Tuesday 28th January 2025
  • To propose an event as part of our Autumn Programme 2025-26 (October to February) the deadline for form submission is Tuesday 13th May 2025

Generally our exhibitions programme prioritises artists who are commissioned by GWL or wish to engage specifically with our communities and collections. Exhibition runs are usually a minimum of 2 months, and we receive more proposals that we are able to take forward – so please be aware of this when applying.

Below you can download the Working With GWL application form; guidelines to assist completing the form; our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Policy to connect your proposal to our EDI objectives; and our Environmental Policy to demonstrate how your proposal links to our environmentally conscious values and working practices:
