Come and research an inspirational Scottish woman from history and put words in her mouth, using the fabulous library and archive at Glasgow Women’s Library as a source of inspiration.
Join us at for tea, coffee, biscuits and informal discussion on local women from your town and throughout East Dunbartonshire. Who are the women that you most remember and why? Where did they live and what did they do? How are they remembered?
Mandy McIntosh, Artist in Residence for the Women of Glasgow, is looking to work with local East End women to produce drawings and words which can be processed into artworks for display on London Road.
From March 2013-March 2014, GWL and Glasgow’s Gallery of Modern Art invited women across the world to write illuminated letters of love and honour to an inspirational woman. Over 200 letters were received and exhibited at the Gallery of Modern Art in 2014 and now a selection of these beautiful and moving letters, including some from women in the Highlands, can be seen in this exhibition.

Our new programme of activities launches on Tuesday 3rd February with a special launch event at the Library. Come along and hear about our March of Women events, find out about the Women's Heritage Walks we have this Spring. Be the first to hear about the writers who are visiting the Library this season, or the new Sex in the Women's Library season starting in April.
