Faith Wilding presents a reading from her autobiography-in-process. In this reading, Faith will explore the actual process of writing, the unexpected revelations unfolding from sense memories long sunk to the bottom of her consciousness, and sheds light on her contradictory and ever-transforming self.

To celebrate moving into our new home, over the next few months we will be holding a series of talks about who we are and what we do. An introduction to some of the Firebrand Women in our collection; the Suffragettes, the women who were instrumental in the Peace Campaigns, Red Clydeside and the Rent Strikes. Also take a look at Badges of Honour and 21 Revolutions projects, and a women’s history walk of the East End.

Want to refresh your reading choices? Our Reader in Residence, Magi Gibson, and Librarian, Wendy Kirk, will be on hand to chat about books with you. Or maybe you’d just like to grab some time to sit and read? Drop in any time between 1pm and 4pm to browse our fantastic selection of fiction, non-fiction and poetry books with lots of coffee, tea and cake. Don’t have a GWL library card? This is the perfect opportunity to get one! No need to book. Just drop in to see us at 15 Berkeley Street.

Bring your packed lunch and picnic rug and join us for some poetry in the park! A selection of wonderful poets, including our very own Reader in Residence Magi Gibson, will be reading from their work in the great outdoors at Glasgow Green. Come along and be inspired and uplifted at this unique lunchtime event. We will be meeting at the drying greens, next to the Templeton Carpet Factory (ask if you need directions). In case of showers we will have a back up plan.
