Following the Commonwealth Games in 2014, Glasgow Women’s Library has gathered a unique collection of commonwealth women writers which will be showcased at Edinburgh Central Library for the duration of the Harpies Fechters and Quines festival.
In this topical and challenging film, Scottish Muslim women themselves speak about the wearing of the Hijab, the issues behind it and how it affects them and their communities.
No acting skills required. Just enjoy an informal play reading without the stress of learning lines or the goosebumps of performing on stage. And you don’t even need to read out loud! During the session we will explore the barriers that the criminal term 'hate crime' poses to women in coming forward to speak about their experiences of targeted victimisation or hostility.
