Starting from GWL, this guided bike ride on cycle paths through Glasgow Green and the Gorbals will introduce some of the remarkable women uncovered by our Women’s History Detectives. You’ll hear about activists, hawkers, weavers, and educators from different backgrounds who have inhabited and enriched these areas.Women’s Heritage Bike Ride – New Route! Saturday 9th September 2023, 2pm to 4pm, Free, Over 55 We’ve developed a new guided bike ride route which incorporates women uncovered by our Women’s History Detectives who feature in our Women’s Heritage Walks.From GWL we’ll head through Glasgow Green to the edge of the Merchant City, before crossing the river into the Gorbals, and returning via the Clydeside to our start.You’ll hear about remarkable activists, hawkers, weavers, creatives, housewives and educators from different backgrounds who have inhabited and enriched these areas.We’re offering this led bike ride for women over 55 of all speeds, but please note this ride will be a slow pace with lots of breaks.“Great pace, interesting stops and enjoyed learning about the East End.” – Bike ride participant Check out the other Women’s Heritage Bike Ride programmed for Thursday 22nd June.

This event is for Women* over 55 only. To attend, please book below and we will share an email invitation with you. If you would like to make a donation to Glasgow Women’s Library, you can do so here. You will receive your email invitation a few days before the event takes place. *All women-only events are inclusive of Trans and Intersex women, as well as non-binary and gender fluid people who are comfortable in a space that centres the experience of women.
