Whether you’re the next Katie Archibald or your bike hasn’t seen the light of day for several years, this ride is for you. Our volunteer tour guides will lead you at a leisurely pace along off road cycle paths (no hills, promised), stopping along the way to share some key events in women’s cycling history.
Follow in the tracks of pioneering women athletes, militant suffragettes, and a vaudeville performer, and gain insight into why bicycling, “has done more to emancipate women than anything else in the world” (Susan B. Anthony, American social reformer and women’s rights activist).
If you don’t have your own bicycle Next Bikes are available to hire from Bridgeton Cross for £1 per 30 minutes (£4 for the full ride). You can find out more about Next Bike hire here.
