Join our next Women Making It session exploring the intricate relationship between nature and creative wellbeing. Delve into the sentimental connections we share with the natural world while engaging in surface building processes using plant matter. This workshop encourages participants to reflect on environmental healing, fostering a deeper appreciation for nature’s role in our lives.
Through sensory making with textures and forms from fallen leaves, flowers, and other plant matter, you’ll learn various techniques to transfer the essence of these natural materials onto textiles and paper. Engage in surface mark making and printing, repurposing plant matter to honour its life and story. Spend focused time with natural materials, and discover how creativity can enhance your connection to the environment.
Lead by artist Zana Araki exploring themes from their process and seen throughout the exhibition Peace Arbour.
These sessions are open to all women. We are especially keen for local women to use the GWL space for socialising, meeting like-minded women and taking part in fun & creative learning.
