Working with textile artist Paria Goodarzi, women from Sakina Group in Glasgow have designed their own creative prints for scarves. This exhibition showcases their work which uses symbols, images and empowering statements to explore and celebrate women’s activism.

Textiles and Activism, Saturday 13th April to Saturday 1st June, visit during GWL opening hours

 

Also join us on Thursday 16th April for an afternoon of spoken word, songs and stories (in Urdu and English) on Women’s activism and the suffrage movement in Britain.

 

Booking

This exhibition is open to all, free to attend and there is no need to book. Visit during GWL opening hours.

Accessibility

This exhibition has no audio content.

Glasgow Women’s Library is wheelchair accessible, with lifts to the first floor and the Mezzanine Floor. We have accessible toilets and all the bathrooms are individual closed stalls and are gender neutral. Our larger Events Space is fitted with an induction loop. A portable induction loop is also available. For paid events free companion tickets are available.
