In our Stride with Pride workshops, facilitated by Mel Reeve, LGBTQI+ people have been researching and shaping a new heritage trail, looking at the people, places and spaces that need to be commemorated. This August, join us as we celebrate the launch of this trail.
Hear from our History Detective volunteers as they talk about how they used the collections to research and create our new Heritage Trail map. We’ll start by exploring the archives at the library and then (from 2.30pm) you have a choice to stay and take part in a zine making workshop inspired by our collections hosted by Mel Reeve, or to go on a guided walk that celebrates Glasgow’s Queer past and writes LGBTQI+ people back into history. Everyone is welcome to attend the event and zine making workshop, however there are limited spaces on the guided walk so if you would like to book please email Emily on emily.ilett@womenslibrary.org.uk.
This workshop is open to all and is free to attend. This event is for open to all and is free to attend. Please book below (you will be taken through the shopping cart but no charge will be made) or you can call us on 0141 550 2267. If you have booked a place and are no longer able to attend please let us know so that we can make your place available to someone else.
Glasgow Women’s Library is wheelchair accessible, with lifts to the first floor and the Mezzanine Floor. We have accessible toilets and all the bathrooms are individual closed stalls and are gender neutral. Our larger Events Space is fitted with an induction loop.
