Story Café

Brighten up your lunchtime at our Story Café this summer. Top up your tea, sit back and listen to stories and poems exploring love, wanderlust, landscape and all the complexities of life, by the best women writers world-wide.

So far this year we’ve been spellbound by sea-faring adventurers in Greenland, reminded of the joys of tree-climbing and thrilled by lifelong love affairs.

Our Story Café Specials are an intimate way of hearing from some of the best Scottish writers.

Story Café Special: Fairy Tales with Kirsty Logan on Thursday 9th June, 12.30pm to 2.30pm

Story Café Special: Drama Queens on Thursday 23rd June, 12.30pm to 2.30pm

Story Café Special for Young Women: Katniss & Hermione Save the Day AGAIN, Thursday 28th July, 12.30pm to 2.30pm

Story Café Special: Catherine Czerkawska on Thursday 11th August, 12.30pm to 2.30pm

Booking

These events are for women only and suitable for 16+. Story Café Special for Young Women is for women only and 12+, Story Café Special: Drama Queens is open to women only 16+ and our other Story Café Specials this summer are open to all, 16+. Each event costs £2.00 full price, you can pay on the day. We offer subsidised and/or free places for students, people on a low income, unemployed or those in receipt of benefit and Friends of GWL.
