Why you should join us? This is a very exciting chance to go along on a tour specifically created for our visit of works of art that are owned by Glasgow Museums but not currently on show. A private tour of works by women artists will be followed by an arts & crafts workshop, to try your own hand at some painting or glass engraving.
Glasgow Museums Resource Centre, the dark back-stage of museums, houses 1.4 million objects in total. Only a tiny proportion of all the objects are actually on display around Glasgow, but this is the opportunity to see some of all those thousands of other works of art. The tour will show us a variety of work by women artists about their life or experience. Afterwards, an arts & craft session with some tea or coffee will be ending the visit in a relaxed way. We will be back in the city centre around 5.30pm.
Seeing Things will meet at Glasgow Central Station to take the 1.58pm train to Nitshill, which is only a short walk from the Glasgow Museum Resource Centre. If you would like to meet us at the Resource Centre if that’s more convenient, please let us know and we can meet you there at 2.30pm.
We have a small budget to cover travel costs.
