Whether you’re a seasoned or first time writer, join us at this creative writing workshop with poet Ruth Carr. We all know women who have made a difference to us, either personally or historically, but whose lives have been overlooked or undervalued in some way. Make these remarkable women visible and celebrate their lives by recreating them on paper.
Born in Belfast, Ruth edited the first anthology of women’s writing to come out of Northern Ireland, and was a founder member of Word of Mouth women’s poetry collective.
Before this workshop, Ruth will be at Story Café, reading from her latest collection, Feather and Bone, which responds with curiosity and compassion to the lives of two remarkable women from the past: Dorothy Wordsworth and Mary Ann McCracken.
This event is women only* and free to attend. We prefer for tickets to be booked in advance whenever possible.
