Liberating Histories is a research project that tells the stories of the Women’s Liberation Movement through UK feminist magazines and connects these stories to women’s activism today.
From Spare Rib to Harpies and Quines, activist periodicals of the 1970s-90s powered, connected and sustained the UK Women’s Liberation Movement. This event is an opportunity to find out more about the Liberating Histories Project, to examine Glasgow Women’s Library’s extensive holdings of feminist magazines and to contribute your own thoughts and ideas to our understanding of how the power of print mobilised a movement.
You can follow Liberating Histories on X (Twitter) @LibHistories and on Instagram @LiberatingHistories.
