Our Mixing The Colours project presents a Story Café Special in Inverness sharing short stories and poems from our anthology of the same name.
For the first time women’s writing on this issue has been gathered in one publication exploring the complexity and diversity of women’s experiences. Join us as we take a journey through the generations with tales of childhood reprimands for ‘dancing to the band’, a cantankerous bigot meeting her comeuppance with hilariously tragic consequences and discover the origins of a scar, betraying the pressures placed on daughters, sisters and mothers in the name of identity, loyalty and belonging.
Our warm and welcoming Story Café is the perfect way to relax. Bring along a bite to eat, grab a cuppa, and enjoy listening to wonderful short stories and poems. Whether you’re an avid reader, or want to get into reading for the first time, this event is a great introduction to the women’s library and to recharge your batteries.
This session is for women only.
The event is free but ticketed and can be booked online below or by calling 0141 550 2267 or email at info@womenslibrary.org.uk
