The letters and postcards we have received as part of our Illuminated Letters project will be on display for 2 weeks from International Women’s Day on Saturday 8th March. Some will be part of a special exhibition at the Gallery of Modern Art, with a satellite exhibit of the rest at the Library.
These beautiful, touching, colourful letters celebrate just some of the women throughout history who have changed lives: suffragettes, sportswomen, singers and scientists; philanthropists, parachutists, playwrights and pioneers; artists, anarchists, aviators and activists; environmentalists, entertainers, engineers and educators; witches, writers, workers and warriors. Find out how their stories have inspired other women.
There is also a chance to attend our final Illuminated Letters workshop at GoMA on Friday 28th February where you can create your own Illuminated Letter to be part of the exhibition.
The exhibition is on for 2 weeks, check the GoMA website for details of when they are open.
