Women of Scotland map for webWhere are the memorials and monuments to women in Scotland – the writers, doctors, mothers, factory workers and other women who made Scotland what it is today? This session includes an introduction and guided tour of the Women of Scotland website, an exciting new project for recording memorials to women throughout Scotland developed by Glasgow Women’s Library and Women’s History Scotland. Hear the fascinating stories of women already featured on the website and find memorials to women in your own local area

10am-1pm, Wednesday 30th April
Timespan, Helmsdale
In partnership with WEA women@work

You will also have the chance to explore our treasure chest of gems, embellishments and other craft and writing materials and create your own illuminated letter. We can help you write it and you don’t need any artistic or craft experience. We have compiled a list of 100 women, however, we would be delighted if you wish to write a letter to a local woman or another woman who has been important in your life. If your heroine is not on our list, it would be great if you could bring a picture and a short biography.

Free of charge but booking is essential.

To book a place on workshops in Oban and Helmsdale, contact 0141 5502267, email info@womenslibrary.org.uk or contact WEA women@work on 01463 710577
