She Settles in the Shields
This vibrant exhibition records and illustrates the colourful histories of women migrants to the Pollokshields area of Glasgow from the 1950s on. It provides an insight into family, intergenerational differences, food, fashion, relaxation and celebration, as well as charting the women’s encounters with, study and the local community.
Hysterical Women and Graphic Grrrlz
This collection includes a diverse range of fascinating, challenging and very funny graphic novels and comix from the 1970s to the present day.
Between Future and Past
This exhibition showcases posters from the GWL archive designed by artists in the 1980s to promote the history and changing position of women in society, including a contemporary update which explores what feminism and the portrayal of women means today.
Artefacts from the Glasgow Women’s Library archive from suffragette history to 2nd wave feminism will also be on display.
