Reading and talking about books, poems or stories in a supportive group can be inspirational and help people through difficult times. Our new Dumfries women’s reading circle is a great chance to read new
books, meet new friends and improve your reading skills.
Next meeting Wednesday 26th September 6pm-7.30pm at North West Resource Centre, dry workshop Room, College Drive, Dumfries.
What is a Reading Circle? A Reading Circle is a group of women who get together to discuss books, stories or poems they have read. The group is free of charge.
Do we read together? No. Group members read the material between meetings and then tell the group what they’ve been reading and why they enjoyed it.
Who chooses the writing to be read? You do! It is up to the group to decide what they would like to read. Once you’ve told the group about what you’ve been reading you can pass it on to someone else to read. You don’t have to bring any reading material to the first meeting, but you can if you want to.
The group meet every last Wednesday of the month. If you would like to find out more about the group contact Morag Smith on 0141 248 9969 or e-mail morag.smith@womenslibrary.org.uk
