Drama Queens: Play Reading for Pleasure

It’s Curtain Up once more for our regular No-Acting-Required Drama Queens sessions.

Please note that due to our ongoing boiler replacement, we have made the decision to cancel this Story Cafe. We care about the wellbeing of our event attendees and unfortunately the Library is currently too cold for this event to go ahead comfortably. Drama Queens, Thursday 10th October, 5.30pm to 7.15pm, Thursdays 7th November and 5th December, 2.30pm to 4.30pm, £2/Free, Women only

Tea and laughter accompany readings of some of the wonderful plays in our collection. Take a part, or sit in the wings – it’s up to you to decide if you want to read or to listen. Whether it’s militant suffrage scenes, quaint 1940s drawing room comedy, or hard-hitting feminist drama, there’s something for everyone.

This workshop is for women only* and there are two ticket options for this event: a £2 ticket and a Free ticket. If a ticket price of £2 is in any way a barrier to you attending this event please choose a Free ticket. We also offer a Free ticket if you are a Friend of GWL. Please book online below or you can call us on 0141 550 2267. If you have booked a place and are no longer able to attend please let us know so that we can make your place available to someone else.

*All women-only events are inclusive of Trans and Intersex women, as well as non-binary and gender fluid people.

Accessibility

We can provide larger print versions if required – please let us know in advance.  

Glasgow Women’s Library is wheelchair accessible, with lifts to the first floor and the Mezzanine Floor. We have accessible toilets and all the bathrooms are individual closed stalls and are gender neutral. Our larger Events Space is fitted with an induction loop. A portable induction loop is also available. For paid events free companion tickets are available.
