In this arts and crafts session we will be creatively responding to the age-old question, ‘Who am I?’. Using collage-making, we will explore our personal histories and the legacies we come from, as well as the history-making we are a part of in our daily lives.
Discover Women’s History in Dennistoun, Friday 9th June to 25th August, 9.30am to 11.30am, Culloden Street Hall, 1 Culloden Street, Dennistoun, Free, Women only
In this exciting new project, we’ll discover the hidden stories of local women and then help to develop a new women’s heritage trail and booklet. We’ll also be taking field trips and sharing our own memories.
You don’t need any previous experience of heritage work – we will include training and support. This project is a chance to make new friends, develop new skills and share your stories of women in Dennistoun.
“I really enjoyed…meeting new like-minded people and making new friendships, sparking memories of good times, the opportunity to share … and gaining …an appreciation of how things were for female family members and other women” East Dunbartonshire women’s heritage project participant
This project is offered with support from Glasgow City Council Local Area Fund
The event is free and for women only* (16+). To attend, please book below and we will share an email invitation with you. If you would like to make a donation to Glasgow Women’s Library, you can do so here.
*All women-only events are inclusive of Trans and Intersex women, as well as non-binary and gender fluid people who are comfortable in a space that centres the experience of women.
