Join Playwright Natalie McGrath at the end of a week in residence at Glasgow Women’s Library. A week spent exploring the exciting collections of the Lesbian Archive to inspire ideas for a brand new play entitled Cusp.
Materials from the archive will be shared and explored to gently ignite stories and conversations about the rich heritage of queer women’s lives in Scotland. Bring your stories to share over a cuppa, and be amongst the first to hear early ideas and sketches from the play.
Cusp hopes to tell a beautiful love story, whilst also charting the heritage of lesbian lives and politics in Scotland over several generations. Natalie will be joined by Clare Duffy, who is an award winning Playwright, Director and Dramaturg and tour de force in Scottish Theatre to support this early stage of the process in the life of this new play.
Natalie McGrath is a playwright, poet and a Co-Director of Dreadnought South West, who produce the Rebellious Sounds Archive, she is also a Co-Director of Out and About Queering the Museum at RAMM (Royal Albert Memorial Museum and Art Gallery). Her plays include We’ll Meet In Moscow a digital production by Traverse Theatre, Edinburgh, and most recently The Beat of Our Hearts at Exeter Northcott Theatre on LGBTQIA+ loneliness and belonging. Currently she is writing a book; Honeycomb.
This work is generously supported by Playwrights’ Studio, Scotland as part of their Self-led Projects.
