Please note: due to the ongoing travel disruption across Glasgow and UK caused by the weather we have sadly had to cancel this event (and all other events on 3rd March, however the library will be open 12pm to 4pm). We apologise for any inconvenience caused, and thank you for your understanding.
We host an introductory session on Saturday 27th January, 2.30pm to 3.30pm at the Glasgow Women’s Library to share all the information about the workshops. You will get a chance to meet the writers, socialise with other like-minded women and enjoy a tour of Glasgow Women’s Library.
Storying Relationships and GWL are delighted to be offering creative writing workshops for young Muslim women this spring. These workshops will explore literature by local Muslim writers, open up conversations about engaging with texts, develop skills across poetry, short stories and journalism and inspire your writerly observations. All this in a relaxed and supportive environment!

Storying Relationships explores how young British Muslims, particularly those with Pakistani heritage, talk and think about their personal relationships. Particular attention will be paid to relationships issues that may be specific to these groups, and linked to culture or religion.
It explores the role of stories and storytelling in this, focusing on relationship stories that are told in everyday life (with friends, for example) and also media such as fiction, films and radio. It investigates existing stories and also involves participants in making and sharing new stories.
