Tall Tales is a national touring programme that brings together the work of 17 international women artists who employ the playful use of storytelling techniques in the making of their work.
The Chandelier of Lost Earrings is a major work selected for the Tall Tales tour, a striking sculpture made by Manchester based artists Lauren Sagar and Sharon Campbell, formed from over 3,000 single earrings donated by owners who have lost the other half of the pair. The women who contributed items to the project also shared, via letters, the story attached to it, revealing why the earrings were so meaningful to them, these stories having become part of the artwork’s legacy.
The Chandelier of Lost Earrings will be displayed in Glasgow Women’s Library from mid September signalling the arrival of the full Tall Tales exhibition which will be open to the public from 22 October – 21 December 2016.
