Call for Cloth Creative Workshop

Thursday, 8th September, 2016, 2:30pm to 4:30pm

Free

A call for clothThe Call for Cloth project explores the stories we tell which are inspired by cloth and clothing.  It is part of Tall Tales, a touring exhibition coming to Glasgow Women’s Library in the Autumn.

The workshops will be informal and fun, a chance to meet other women, share stories and skills, and make a collaborative artwork that will be shown as part of the Tall Tales exhibition.

In this workshop we will be making paper and fabric cyanotypes (early photographic processes) using sewing and knitting patterns from our museum collection as inspiration.

You can book a free place below or contact us for more information. If you would like to, you can bring material with you that lets lights through it or has interesting patterns (like mesh material, knitting or crocheting which has gaps between the pattern).

There are 3 more creative workshops (all 2.30pm to 4.30pm):

Wednesday 14th September- Meet Lauren Sagar, the artist behind Call for Cloth

Thursday 22nd September- Discover the Chandelier of Lost Earrings

Thursday 6th October- TBC
