Be bold and submit your short stories and poems to our annual writing competition. To tie in with our 25th birthday celebrations, our theme this year is 25 Years and you can respond to it in any way you want: a haiku about wanting to be 25 again, a science fiction story set 25 years in the future, a poem about 1991, a short story that takes place at a silver wedding party… give your creative muse free rein and e-mail your short stories and poems of up to 1000 words (either in a Word Document or typed in the body of the e-mail) to info@womenslibrary.org.uk with Bold Types Competition Entry in the subject line. You can enter once in each category and the closing date for entries is 10th November 2016.
Hear the shortlisted writers read their stories in front of our wonderfully supportive and encouraging panel of judges: feminist poet and activist Nadine Aisha, novellist and short story writer Moira McPartlin, previous Bold Types winner and newly published novelist Ethyl Smith, and GWL’s own librarian, Wendy Kirk. Winners will be announced on the night.
This event is open to all. Please book below (you will be taken through the shopping cart but no charge will be made) or you can call us on 0141 550 2267. If you have booked a place and are no longer able to attend please let us know so that we can make your place available to someone else.
