Would love to enter but need a bit of encouragement? Have no fear because our Bold Types workshops are here to help you be bold! One of our fear-free sessions is the ideal place to try out some fantastic fiction and ravishing rhymes with gentle but thought-provoking writing exercises, oodles of inspiration, and editing encouragement. These workshops are suitable for all levels of creative writing experience.
Sessions also in person at GWL: Friday 18th August, Saturday 9th September
These creative writing sessions will be facilitated by poet and workshop facilitator, Giovanna MacKenna. Giovanna’s’s life has been built by words: while listening to the voices of her Scottish father and Italian mother; in reading the books that formed a lifeboat through her childhood; by working those she spoke on stages as an actor and the many she interrogated as a journalist. Giovanna’s first full collection is available from The Museum of Loss and Renewal Publishing. Recently she’s judged Glasgow Women’s Library’s Calm Slam 2023, been a Visual Verse lead writer and had work published in Sídhe Press, Stanza Cannon, Black Bough and Nine Pens.
