Launched in 1982 in a response to a sudden surge in the number of challenges to books in schools, bookstores and libraries, Banned Books Week (30th September to 6th October) is a celebration of the freedom to read. We’d love you to celebrate this freedom with us!
Why not drop into the library and borrow a classic banned book, find out more about a banned author, or review a banned book for our website. What better way to celebrate our right to freedom of thought and expression than by reading a book which challenges both us and the powers that be?
