Our ongoing #GWLhearsme consultation project has helped us learn so much about our returning and new visitors’ thoughts about the library, further informing us about what it is that you like about your visits, learning or work with GWL and where we could do better. Thank you to everyone who has already given their time to completing the #GWLhearsme consultation form, or sharing their views via Twitter. It’s wonderful to hear how many of you enjoy your warm welcome, and feel safe and secure here and able to learn about women’s history, literature, and creativity, and to develop your own skills.
We’re taking steps to put into action your suggestions for how we can improve. We asked ‘Which time of day or week is best for you to visit?’ and we listened as an overwhelming 30% of you said weekends or Saturdays. Although, in the past, we have been open for events over the weekend (and we will continue to do so) we have now altered our general opening hours to support those visiting from further away, who are busy during the week, or who would like nothing better than to plan a Saturday afternoon at GWL.
You can now visit from Monday to Friday, 9.30am to 5pm (late opening on Thursday until 7.30pm) or on Saturdays from 12pm to 4pm. This information is available on our ‘Where to find us’ page on the website, and keep an eye on our calendar for holiday closures or to find out more about our events and activities.
We’ll be sharing more about our discoveries from our #GWLhearsme consultation over the coming months.
