To mark our 21st birthday in 2012, 21 female artists and 21 female writers were commissioned to create new work inspired by GWL and its unique collection of books, badges, magazines, knitting patterns, artwork, Suffragette materials, and other artefacts and materials charting women’s achievements and contributions over the last 130 years.
Launched in March 2014, the publication brings together these 21 powerful new texts, 21 vibrant new prints, along with the 42 fascinating and eclectic sources.
We are now looking for support from June to September (1 day per week minimum) with the marketing and distribution of this publication across Scotland.
Duties may include the following:
• Identifying relevant book festivals
• Press and marketing activities
• Sales and distribution of the publication
• Working with press and publicity to promote the artworks, publication and podcast distribution
• Social media and blogging re. the 21 Revolutions programme
• Identifying further touring venues (internationally) for the 21 Revolutions exhibition
• Monitoring and evaluation
Skills needed for this internship include:
• Attention to detail
• Good record-keeping
• Simple database skills (Excel)
• Communication skills (via email, telephone and face to face)
• An interest and enthusiasm in contemporary art and writing
This is an unpaid position but we can make a contribution towards travel expenses of up to £5.00 per day.
