A Reading for Wellbeing recommended read
Before I die by Jenny Downham
At the start of the book, our heroine, 16 year old Tessa might be just any other stroppy teenager, apart from the fact that she has terminal cancer. By the end, I’d really grown to love her, and to see the world through her eyes. She comes to value the small things in life, as well as the big ones, and takes whatever she can get – even if this means breaking a few rules. After all, what has she got to lose? The book is life-affirming rather than depressing, and reminds us to cherish each moment we’re alive.
