Glasgow Sculpture Studios supports a vibrant community of professional artists who focus on innovative sculptural techniques and practices. This wide-ranging community are at varying stages of their careers, from emergent and recent graduates through to established artists whose practice is recognized at the highest level; from representing Scotland at the Venice Biennale, being nominated for the Turner Prize to winning Becks Futures.
The Paper Clay class will introduce the fundamental techniques of paper clay from the various methods of preparing the materials to forming and decorating techniques. Make a functional item, a figurative or abstract sculpture or perhaps even a piece of jewellery. Suitable for all levels of experience and led by practicing artists at our unique facility, the only one of its kind in Glasgow, and the West.
You will gain a more in depth understanding of techniques and processes, all delivered in our well equipped, custom built production resource. Choose from an evening course or a learning weekend and be part of our thriving artistic community.
These courses are designed for the general public aged 16+, who want to learn the basics of sculpture-making although some are suitable for artists wishing to develop new skills. All materials are included.
