‘Nurture /Shelter’ is from a series of 15 entitled ‘Mourning Spoons’. It is a hand made paper cast from recycled cotton denim. Stephanie has said ‘the work is inspired from a theme of feminine identity, eluding to the intimate experiences of life from nurturing the body to death’.
Stephanie studied in Philadelphia and Colorado before moving to Glasgow in 2005. She exhibits globally and her practice is inspired by themes of identity; disjuncture of the obvious and the latent; the relationship between the mind and body and exploration of internal landscapes of thought and emotion.
