Website Relaunch

If you’re a regular visitor to the website, you’ll have noticed that it’s looking a little different.

The structure of the site has been changed slightly. We now have five main sections: About the Library, The Collection, Learning at GWL, Support GWL and News.

New Features

There are a couple of new features on the website. The main feature is our new Support GWL section, which includes our recently launched Women on the Shelf initiative and our new Volunteering page, which features requests for volunteers for specific tasks.

We’ve also launched GWL Recommends, featuring book and poetry recommendations from GWL staff, users and learners. If you’d like to recommend a book to our website visitors, you can use the What Would You Recommend? form.

And we’ve added a search page, courtesy of Google Custom Search, to make it easier for you to find content on the site.

New Look

The website is now running on WordPress, a blog content managment system that we’ve been using for our blog for a couple of years. The design has been changed as well, although we’ve kept the colours and layout broadly the same. The new design is more open and easier to read, complementing the more intuitive structure of the site.

As always, we want to hear what you think. Take a look round the new website, then tell us what you think via the contact page, or leave a comment below.
