Women Who Widnae Haud Their Wheesht in World War One

What compelled thousands of women of Glasgow and Manchester to voice their protest and march to proclaim their antipathy in 1916 and 1918? Through talks, discussion and film we will explore the commonalities of experience between women in these two cities and learn about pioneering peace activism during WWI.

The event, led by the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom will refer to and draw upon FORWARD: Remembering Women’s Peace Crusaders, an exhibition at GWL in 2016.
