Glasgow Women’s Library recently celebrated their 21st anniversary as a unique lending library, archive and learning centre. As part of this year of celebration, 21 woman writers and artists were commissioned to produce exciting new stories, essays and works of art inspired by the women’s library’s collections.
Monday 9th-Saturday 21st June,
Mezzanine, Central Library,
George IVth Bridge, Edinburgh, EH1 1EG
This exhibition is a unique chance to see a selection of the artworks and items from the collections which inspired them. In addition to seeing the artworks there will also be a chance to see the 21Revolutions book, a beautiful full-colour publication which features all the work produced by this diverse group of women, from well-known award winning artists and writers to new and emerging talent. It includes artwork from Sam Ainsley, Claire Barclay and Shauna McMullan and writing from Karen Campbell, Anne Donovan, Denise Mina and Jackie Kay.
