The Glasgow Girls of Garnethill

16th June, 2018, 2:00pm to 4:00pm

£6.00 – £10.00

Our Women Make History project has uncovered many resourceful, radical and creative women who ought to be better known. These guided walks put them in the limelight and ensure that their contributions to Glasgow, both past and present, are celebrated, valued and more widely recognised.

The Glasgow Girls of Garnethill, Saturday 16th June, 2pm to 4pm, £10/£6

Within Garnethill’s confined boundaries we spotlight the women who pioneered European art movements, designed banners for suffragette processions, created the first women’s library in Scotland and made Garnethill the most exciting cultural and multicultural hotspot in Glasgow.

Our volunteer tour guides will lead you from the bustle of Sauchiehall Street up into the leafy streets of this bohemian enclave to introduce you to some of the women who have shaped this corner of the city.

Meeting Point: Gather outside the CCA. Please do not arrive without having booked your place in advance as tour guides are not able to take payment, and the walk may be full. Bookings close on the Thursday prior to the women’s heritage walk.
