Story Café Special: Marion F. Morrison and Morag Law, Thursday 29th August, 12.30pm to 2.30pm, £2/Free

Come along to Story Café Special to hear two recent recipients of the Scottish Book Trust Gaelic New Writers Award read and discuss their work. Marion F. Morrison is a poet who lives in South Uist, whose debut collection, Adhbhar ar Sòlais / Cause of Our Joy was published in 2018. Her writing has been described as ‘flowing, eloquent and poignant’ by Gillebride MacMillan and she was awarded second place in the Donald Meek literary awards in 2018.

Morag Law has connections with Colonsay and in 2013 edited a bilingual collection of her mother’s essays, Dìleab Cholbhasach / A Colonsay Legacy, a valuable legacy of the Colonsay Gaelic dialect. Morag has had stories and articles published in Cothrom and STEALL magazines and is currently working on a short story collection.

Readings at this event will be bilingual and the discussion will be in English.
