Join us for a celebratory afternoon revisiting the amazing stories of the women featuring in the book.  We will also launch ‘She settles in the Shields Part’ 2 which highlights the experience of 2nd and 3rd generation immigrant women and the wonderful work they’ve carried out in the Pollokshields area over the past decade.

“It’s quite poignant, that 10 years on we have a legacy, not only of the hard work of our mothers, grandmothers and migrant women in our community, but of the hardships they faced when they first came to this country”  Tabassum Niamat  – 2nd generation immigrant women and community activist in Pollokshields
