Seeing Things goes to West End Festival

21st June, 2018, 6:30am to 8:00pm

Seeing things

Seeing Things is a group that meet up to see art, performances and cultural events put on by women across Glasgow and beyond. We think it’s more fun to go to see things together, and we usually have a cup of tea or coffee afterwards. It would be great if you could come along!

What: A talk called ‘West End Families 1880 to 1970

When: 21st of June, 6.15 – 8 pm

Where: Hillhead Library (see on map). We will meet outside Hillhead subway station, on Byres road.

Who with: Aike

Why you should join us: This looks to be a really interesting talk that will cover the history of the West End from 1880 until 1970 by looking at the people who lived here, where they lived and how they made their money. It will be given by Heather Waddell, an author and art critic, whose family connections in the West End go back more than a hundred years.

West End Festival 2018

This talk is part of the West End Festival which has lots of great events, talks and music on in the month of June. After the talk, which will last about 75 minutes, you are very welcome to join us for a tea or coffee to catch up and chat about the event.
