Seeing Things: Boireannaich Beachdail/Witty Women

15th November, 2018, 5:15pm to 7:30pm

Seeing things

Seeing Things is a group that meet up to see art, performances and cultural events put on by women across Glasgow and beyond. We think it’s more fun to go to see things together, and we usually have a cup of tea or coffee afterwards.  Our trips are always free. It would be great if you could come along!

What: Boireannaich Beachdail/Witty Women PLUS a Gaelic language taster session!

When: Thursday November 15th, 5:15 pm – 7:30 pm

Where: Glasgow Women’s Library, 23 Landressy St, Glasgow G40 1BP

Who With: Nicola and Freya

Why you should join us: Not only will we be attending the brilliant, bilingual Boireannaich Beachdail/Witty Women event, but the Seeing Things group will have a very special half hour Gaelic language taster session beforehand! We’ll be learning how to pronounce some of the Gaelic words we see out and about (including the title of this event!), as well as how to say hello and goodbye, and to introduce ourselves.

For the main event, three well-known witty women give us their unique, funny perspective on the Gaelic arts world. Broadcaster and writer Seonag Monk is known for presenting strong, opinionated female characters. Muireann Kelly is the artistic director of the award-winning Gaelic theatre company, Theatre Gu Leòr. Singer, presenter, and Gaelic force of nature Linda MacLeod rounds up this fantastic trio.

This event is a great opportunity to learn more about the vibrant contemporary Gaelic language and culture, whether you’re on your first foray into Gaelic, are a lifelong Gael, or anything in between! Nach tig sibh còmhla rinn? Won’t you join us?
