Seeing things

Seeing Things is a group that meet up to see art, performances and cultural events put on by women across Glasgow and beyond. We think it’s more fun to go to see things together, and we usually have a cup of tea or coffee afterwards.  Our trips are always free. It would be great if you could come along!

Seeing Things will visit Pia Camil’s Bara Bara Bara exhibition at The Tramway on Saturday 18th May followed by  Window Ledge Gardening event at the Hidden Gardens.

When: Saturday 18th May, 12.30pm to 3.45pm

Where: Meet in the foyer of The Tramway 25 Albert Drive, Glasgow G41 2PE

Why should you join:  Seeing Things will visit the first solo exhibition in Scotland by Mexico City- based Pia Camil. The installations are immersive textile sculptures which visitors are invited to inhabit and activate. Then we will pass through The Tramway to take part in The Hidden Gardens Window Ledge Gardening event were we can learn about houseplants and herbs. Craft macrame pot holders. Meet The Cacti and Succulent Society.

As always, the tea/coffee is on us and we can cover your travel expenses up to £5.

Accessibility

The Tramway wheelchair accessible and The Hidden Gardens have flat terrain and good quality pathways. Pollokshields East train station (which is not wheelchair accessible) is train station next to The Tramway, buses also pass near by. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with any questions about accessibility and we can contact The Tramway and Hidden Gardens!

 

Booking

This trip is for women only* and is free to attend. Travel expenses up to £5 can be covered. Please email emily.ilett@womenslibrary.org.uk or call the library on 0141 550 2267 to book your place. If you have booked a place and are no longer able to attend please let us know.

*All women-only events are inclusive of Trans and Intersex women, as well as non-binary and gender fluid people who identify in a significant way as woman or female.
