Back in 2014, our volunteers developed this women’s heritage bike ride and uncovered lots of great stories about women’s relationship with bikes: from the pioneering athletes of the 1930’s, to how fashion was influenced by women taking to this new mode of travel, via the Victorian fear that cycling would cause women irreparable damage.

Hear more as our volunteer guides lead you at a gentle pace along cycle paths (no hills) with frequent stops to learn about share some key events in women’s cycling history.

We’re offering this led bike ride for women over 55 of all speeds, but please note this ride will be a slow pace with lots of breaks.

“Great pace, interesting stops and enjoyed learning about the East End.” – Bike ride participant
