We will be reading and discussing the book Girl, Woman, Other by Bernardine Evaristo and discussing it in the wider context of the Black Lives Matter movement. Bernadine Evaristo was joint winner of the Booker Prize 2019 and shortlisted for Women’s Prize for Scotland 2020 and the book follows the lives and struggles of twelve very different characters. Mostly women, black and British, they tell the stories of their families, friends and lovers, across the country and through the years.
The event is free and for women only* (16+). To attend, please email email@example.com. If you can’t attend this event but would like to join the Reading Group for Muslim Women, please do get in touch!
