Numeracy for Reading the World

28th February, 2012, 10:00am to 12:00pm

Numbers in a City: New Haven, CT by See-Ming Lee on Flickr

Want to work out those gas bills?
How do they work out those statistics?
How do you read graphs that show levels of unemployment?
Or maybe you just want to be able to figure out that 20% off deal!

Come along to our friendly and relaxed group and brush up your skills: Addition, subtraction and multiplication – whatever it is you want to learn!

We will also be exploring the GWL library and archive collection looking at the ways in which numbers are meaningful, not just in our everyday lives, but throughout history.

10am–12pm, Tuesdays, from 28th February 2012

This will be a small group in a supportive environment.
