Glasgay! Lesbian Activism on Screen

5th November, 2011 at 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Free

In 1997 lesbian activist Jackie Forster was featured in the BBC series ‘The Day that Changed my Life’. This session provides a rare opportunity to see this documentary, which explores how a lesbian love affair in 1958 changed Jackie’s life.

Saturday 5 November, 2pm to 4pm (free)

As well as founding the UK lesbian publication Sappho, Jackie Forster also set up the Lesbian Archive in London, now based at GWL. There will also be a chance to learn more about Jackie’s activism and to see items from her own collection. A free exhibition on Jackie Forster will be also on show at the Library throughout Glasgay!.

Booking is essential. To register your interest please complete the quick booking form below or call us on 0141 248 9969. If you are not already a member of the library you can join here and it is completely free.
