In October 2015, Jenny Wartnaby made GWL history, becoming our first PhD student. Jenny’s project focuses on the history of the feminist anti-violence movement in Scotland. This event places Jenny’s research alongside other exciting work in this area.

Histories of the Feminist Anti-Violence Movement: Symposium, Wednesday 11th May, 1pm to 4.30pm

Confirmed speakers: Lesley Orr (history of Scottish Women’s Aid); Sarah Browne (author The Women’s Liberation Movement in Scotland), Hannah Telling (University of Glasgow) and Finn Mackay (author of Radical Feminism). This is a joint event with Centre for Gender & Feminist Studies (University of Stirling) & Centre for Gender History (University of Glasgow). Jenny is funded by the Scottish Graduate School for Arts & Humanities.
