PaperGirls is the only project (that I know of!) which brings together easy going cycling, community based arts and culture, coffee, and leaflet distribution…

We’re looking for a team of enthusiastic fans of GWL who want to help us promote our work and let more people know about what we do while getting out on a bike and getting a whistle stop tour of lovely coffee shops, galleries and community groups who support our work and are happy to display our publicity materials.

We have 6 short routes in different areas of the city, each with 12 to 15 locations where programmes are dropped off. PaperGirls head out once a month on one route, in solo or in pairs, and drop programmes off.

Here are links to maps for 5 of the routes: Shawlands, Govan, East End (this can be divided into 2 routes: Bridgeton and Dennistoun), Finnieston and West End (both these routes are on the same map)

What we’re looking for:

  • a couple of hours of your time each month (each route takes no more than 2 hours, with lots of stops on the way!)
  • enthusiasm about what GWL does and a desire to promote our work
  • cyclists who are happy to go on roads or interested in doing so

What we offer:

  • an induction in to the work of GWL
  • free bike hire if you don’t have a bike
  • detailed distribution route maps with our suggested cycling routes and information about them
  • if you’d like one, a cycling buddy who knows the route
  • the chance to explore by bike and discover the best hang outs in Glasgow!
  • travel expenses to GWL if you come for a meeting or induction

Please drop me an email if you’d like to find out more (gabrielle.macbeth@womenslibrary.org.uk) or call me on 0141 550 2267.

I’m happy to answer any questions at all!
