The Bicycle Book by Bella Bathhurst

I didn’t know how bitten I was with cycling until I started reading Bella Bathurst’s The Bicycle Book and simply found myself unable to put it down for a week. This book covers everything from where to go to learn how to build your own, bespoke bike frame to the history of the Tour de France and some tips from local cycling hero Graeme Obree (apparently nutrition-wise, nothing beats a good jam sandwich during a race…).

Bella Bathurst’s enthusiasm for cycling is simply contagious and if you thought till now that cycling is more of a man’s world, let Bella introduce you to Zetta Hills, the first woman to cycle across the English Channel, Eva Ballin, the Edinburgh bike messenger and Rachel Atherton, the reigning female champion of the mountain biking world.
By the end of this book, you’ll be simply dying for your next chance to get on your bike and see where the road will take you! I know I was!
